They just issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Portland....we're shopping in the area and I'm hoping I can convince the wife to stay a little longer before heading back to the coast... :P

I'm so stoked about the storms. I happened to be in Osoyoos yesterday and we had a nice thunderstorm roll through. Nothing too impressive but better than anything I have seen here for a while! I hope tonight/tomorrow is epic. Might be pulling an all nighter if it's awesome! :14popcorn: :14popcorn: :14popcorn:

There it comes, but will it survive the treacherous trek across the mighty border.

That recurving typhoon (Typhoon Ampil) off Japan should eventually turn into a Bering sea low and pump up a big west coast ridge by about the end of the month. Expect the models to start jumping on this idea in the upcoming runs. Of course whether or not we get a heat wave depends on the exact location of twhere the highest heights are and the creation of a thermal trough and how much easterly flow, how much smoke will be in play, etc. Smoke can knock several degrees off daytime highs but keep the nights warm and muggy.

I tend to think it will, but the CBSA seems fond of not allowing such things across the border.

Seattle just got hit, been following the reports on the AF.
It's called clown range for a reason.
