Getting this totally normal stretch of cool weather, historically speaking, is a breath of fresh air in this scorching new climate we've created. Soak it in while you can, extreme heat is coming at some point. We haven't had a below normal summer since 2011 I believe, maybe 2012 and I would bet a hefty amount of money that streak will continue.

It'll be nice to go into July/Aug/Sep without having fried yet.

Which storm had the rotating mesocyclone? I can't tell. The convection is so messy and disorganized that it's tough to pick out supercells.

Got any screenshots of the TVSes south of the border?

The signature near Yarrow NBI.
Funnel clouds have been observed this afternoon in the Fraser Valley near Yarrow and conditions are such that they may reform over the next several hours.
The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.

Didn't get screenshots but there was one impressive cell just west of Redmond, WA. You could even see the hook echo on radar.

I believe those years ended up above average. 2016 for example was cool until a hot august. 2020 as well.

For YVR, the last summers (JJA) below 1991-2020 average (17.4°C) were 2020, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2002 [normal], 2001, 2000 and 1999.
If we compare to 1937-2024 average (16.9°C), the last summer below normal was 2011 (16.87°C). Then 2008, 2001, 2000 and 1999.

In the 50's, 60's or 70's, 2011 would have been a warm summer. Even the 1999-2000-2001 cool summers would have been quite warm...

Would be interesting to see the Tmax average at YVR over the same period. I'd imagine the average is mostly skewed upward due to the increase in the Tmin? IIRC the Tmax hasn't increased to the same extent as the Tmin due to the urban heat island effect being more prominent at night.
