Its 8 weeks of Mosquitos/ then 8 weeks of no seeums, then 8 weeks of hornets. Of course those insects hatchings overlap, so not one after the other. But the fish love the insect hatchings in the spring/summer!!
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!

I’d be surprised if we didn’t get a significant heat wave in August.

2012 (analogue year for late spring/early summer this year) had a couple of short heatwaves in August:
https://climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_d ... 12&Month=8#

Otherwise, it was a fairly average summer month temperature-wise (mild, pleasant, coolish at times) month with almost no rain.

Yeah something similar to August 2012 sounds reasonable.

I'm hoping we don't get a winter like 2012/2013, l recall it wasn't that great. it's a roasty toasty 30c now @ the pond in south Sardis.

No black flies? No doubt rainbow trout love their insects but I thought you weren't into flyfishing. And I've never heard of no-seeum or hornet imitations.

I only remember the Jan 2012 Arctic outbreak which was decent. I'm ok with the first half of December being uneventful with my baby being due at the beginning of December. :)

We had a snowstorm on Dec 18/19th (that was the first instance of the Port Mann bridge ice bombs) and white Christmas in 2012 at least. Granted it was pretty melty since the the couple days leading up to the 25th were showery/slushy.

Unfortunately that was basically the only real winter weather we had that winter. January 2013 was cool at times but that was due to a prolonged inversion with lots of fog at the surface.
