Meteorologist Pete Parsons with the Oregon Department of Forestry predicts a cold and snowy December in the PNW.
His latest forecast for October-December issued September 16th used the following analogs: 1971, 1996, and 2008.
An average of those years gives you the following:
Looks awesome if it verifies. No guarantees but we can hope.

First frost overnight. Got down to almost 2C and there was ice on my windshield this morning.

Clear and dry last night. A brief display of the aurora borealis, then patchy frost, then fog around dawn. Low of 2ËšC at the neighborhood sensor.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Quite the Northern Lights last night! Even pictures coming in from Lyden showing them! I tried to take a pic, but didn't have my camera set right. Next time for sure!
