the most frustrating thing about this, aside from the obvious, is that the Lytton fire is suspected human caused
if that is true I hope whoever it was is feeling all the guilt right now.
The rumor this morning was that it was caused by sparks from a train that went through town.

Believe it or not the thick marine clouds produced some decent showers around noon near horseshoe Bay when I drove through. Actually used the windshield wipers for 20-30 minutes.
The traffic I saw heading to Whistler and Ferries on upper levels was insanity.

Lytton wildfire: Two reported dead as blaze destroys most of B.C. village.
Couple in their 60s took shelter in an unused septic pit and died when a power-line fell across them, son says .

Would not be surprised if there are more fatalities, given how little advance warning there was.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Satellite view of Lytton, so those unfamiliar with the area can see just how small a village it was, and how the pictures coming out indicate it really has mostly burned to the ground.

Wow! Ya, that view really does show that all but that one southern corner has burned. What a disaster.

Man, I’m hoping that this stuff isn’t done by arsonists. They know that one match can burn down a whole town in the right conditions.
