10,000 customers out of power on Southern Vancouver Island according to BC Hydro. Expect that number to grow substantially during the next few hours.

Only a wind advisory and not a warning, but it seems gustier than the warnings we've had recently (which have generally been duds).

Got as warm as 14.4ËšC earlier tonight.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Victoria Gonzales is gusting to 100 Kmh now. I think they have only gusted above 100 on a few occasions. Trial Island is showing a gust around 135kmh. Looks like their sensor might have just gone down.

12.3c currently here in east coquitlam. Pretty insane temps for midnight on January 13th.

I'd guess wind gusts are in the ~40km/hr range at the moment.

Max gust of 69 km/h at KBLI. Really felt gustier based on how it’s made my building shake. Maybe gusts have been locally stronger here? I don’t have an anemometer so…

The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.

Heavy rain and hail. One of the heaviest rains I’ve experienced in the Northwest.

Update: Quieter now, but still pretty wild out there. Must have been an embedded strong cell.

Ok, sky is broken now. Clouds are sailing by with clear breaks.
Wind is strong now and definitely reaching warning criteria. The air is slightly sweet with the smell of broken cedar and pine branches.
Im surprised at the strength of the gusts!
Still 11.3

Winds should start shifting from S/SE to the W/NW over Metro Vancouver soon. Band of heavy precip and a fairly rapid temp drop.
