I think I'll start building the ark! Maybe that will solve our water shortage up here. I'm lucky and on a well but most of the coast has been under no outside watering restrictions, including farms and food gardens.

Which is likely to be the driest day this week? Have to pick up a lamb in Langley and would rather do it on a dry day than a pouring rain day.

Actually I saw snow in the photos (Whistler/Blackcomb peak) - all the way down to the roundhouse a couple weeks ago. But of course, that doesn't count, because that was August

No watering farms and food gardens? You may want to check that out. I don't think there are ever any watering restrictions on keeping your food alive

It's definitely true, sadly. We've been in stage 4 since August 10 and there has been a lot of controversy around it but the SCRD says if we don't cut all outside water use, there will be no water at all! It's been a problem for a number of years, lots of building, more houses, more people and no increase in infrastructure in the past decades. Our little windy, 2 lane highway is not meant for the traffic, we don't have the doctors or hospital space, water or sewers and yet they keep subdividing and building and seem surprised that we're running into shortages.

And on the other hand they keep saying we need to be more self sufficient and food security is a high priority...
