16°C at 1:30 pm, with thin spots starting to show in the overcast. Breezy, as it has been all morning.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
To be honest, nobody has anyway of knowing whether or not the heat wave was a once in a lifetime event. It was certainly an extreme event and therefore, there we may never experience anything like it again. But we have no way of knowing that. The weather will do what it's going to do. Apart from the fact that it was the most extreme event in history, it's just speculation.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:22 pm Looks like Mark Madryga not the only meteorologist who thinks the recent record heat wave was a once in a lifetime event.

Repeat after me: the location of the YVR weather station is a joke.

It's perfectly fine if they want to use it as a Sea Island station.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 4:26 pm Repeat after me: the location of the YVR weather station is a joke.
Just don't use it to represent Vancouver.

The other Vancouver station was also hotter in July 2009.... Vancouver Harbour CS. Of course, you might be thinking, "ah, but Deadman's Island is even worse!"
Well, at least it's not Sand Heads or Point Atkinson!

Max of only 18°C today, thanks to marine clouds that did not fully dissipate until late afternoon.

That's quite the temperature swing! More than one would expect to see even in Tibet.

It is a WeatherBell graphic, and WeatherBell specializes in raw model output. It is intended for professional forecasters and weather enthusiasts, not for the general public. I can assure you it is not proofread at all. WeatherBell snarfs in the raw numeric data, feeds it into automated programs, and generates graphics from it. The process is entirely automated.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 9:28 pm how can something that ridiculously insane be posted without being proof read. They call the output of model runs model guidance for a reason. That is all it is: guidance. Forecasts are still issued by humans.
