Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
This low takes an interesting track Thursday evening into Friday evening. Could be some snow on the backside.
If it tracks further south and does not split, maybe even some mixed precip or freezing rain on Friday as we'd see outflow cooling surface temps.

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Probably not much more than a half hour until the back edge of precip moves through in far western metro. Did have a more significant band in the last hour which added to totals though.

00z GFS looks drier early next week. Ridge builds in a touch stronger/further west and most energy from the trough south of Alaska/Aleutians is held offshore.

Precip seems to be stalling a bit...?VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 8:30 pm Probably not much more than a half hour until the back edge of precip moves through in far western metro. Did have a more significant band in the last hour which added to totals though.

It's okay I think with the Wednesday night system you might finally outperform us. That one looks like it may have a more traditional SW to NE gradient.

Still snowing , keeps switching back and forth between light and moderate. Maybe I'll get some accumulation by midnight if it keeps going.

-13C after a nice snow shower for a few hours. Don't really need more snow for a while here unless it melts.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays
