Snow begins Saturday evening, lasting into Sunday as the modified arctic air filters into the south coast from the north and interior.
Still eventually ejects the cold out into the Pacific. But the good news is that the trough it keeps trending east in short range.   :flakey:

At least it's only the GFS. I'd be more concerned about Abbotsford snow totals if this were the Euro and RGEM within 12-24hrs.

Per the 00z GFS. Cold enough for snow down to sea level by Saturday evening. Outflow picks up and the Arctic front passes through the Lower Mainland on Sunday morning.

At face value, would this be a recipe for damaging NE winds in the Fraser Valley with the low offshore and descending high pressure into BC?

Don't know about damaging. But gusty, yes, for sure. Gradients look quite tight between Williams Lake and Bellingham (~ -20mb).

Gusty winds out the inlets, across the strait can bring locally heavy squalls on the east island. This will be potentially exciting

It always happens without much notice and is not always picked up by the models. It is literally a " its happening now" situation lol
