All in all, a very fun 18z run. Not extremely cold, but multiple lowland snow opportunities. A pattern ripe for the infamous coastal sliders.

I’d be okay with that. :shock:


Anyway, the GEFS will be more important to watch.

That AK vortex is sure a tough nut to crack. Looks like we'll have a broad NPAC ridge but lacking in amplification which means no arctic air for our region. N/NW flow could lead to some decent snow events though.

Most snow events in this kind of setup depend on how cold the airmasses are that drop down the coast or from the Gulf of Alaska, and if the flow is offshore at the surface. Really liking 2002 and 2008 as analogues at the moment though.
