Guys, I’m worried. Not sure about what but I am.
This is starting to feel like a bit of a throw back to the old days type of year. Almost a lock for November to be the 9th drier than normal month this year for Shawnigan Lake. We used to see these extreme dry years more commonly in the first half of the last century.
695.2mm of precip at Shawnigan Lake so far this year. Just 55.6% of the yearly average.
Greta is coming back one day..go seek her advice
And here it is..December 2024 all snow geeks have been waiting for
..with the LR weather "charts" calling for a cold and snowy month. Where's the troffing?

12z Euro looking a little better. Still has that ridge there but maybe something sliding down or brushing by, early to middle of next week. Wishful thinking at this point.

Interesting. I looked at precipitation for Sept-Oct and the closest analogs were all in a row!
1) 1978
2) 1980
3) 1981
4) 1979

I could buy into these analogues. Was thinking this morning about 78-79.

Yeah, other than '80-81, those are some good analogues. January '79, '80 and '82 all had good bouts of snow and/or cold.
