Reasonable looking accumulation at Brohm Ridge (Squamish--elevation 1450 meters)

The accumulation on the snowcat in the bottom left of the image is the storm total. Appears to be about a foot, maybe more.

Funny how that all works , yesterday at this time it was around +5 down here yet raining on grouse , now it's +9 at my place and snowing on grouse. :crazy:
The general rule of thumb at one time used to be the 5 degree difference rule between sea level and local mountains.

Absolutely sucks for the mountains. Worse is we get scraped by the southern jet a few times leaving us warm and wet between periods of "fake cold" ridging. East gets progressively colder as the Hudson Vortex pushes south. Was saying mid-late Dec was the best shot of seeing noreasters. Still sticking to that. Anywhere betweeb Toronto-Boston-New York could be ground zero for massive winter storms.

One noticable I see is that Australia just torches until next month. ECMWF op had a 50+C reading on Wed and Thurs!
