Affordable is 100-200K for an apartment or 200-300K for a house.

I always laugh at Vancouver's definition of "affordable housing"...... only $2700 a month for a two-bedroom apartment.

My wacko theory of the day is that the Australian wildfire smoke is a major factor in our split-flow pattern lock.

Yes, but "more affordable than Vancouver" doesn't really say very much with respect to affordability.

It's where I moved from to Bellingham. Seattle just dropped the ball so badly on planning for its inevitable growth that it's made the quality of life really suffer there. At least in Vancouver you started building SkyTrain when it became clear you needed such a thing. Seattle's a good 40 years behind where it should be in building rapid transit. Such a shame; the Federal government was ready to shovel the bucks at Seattle for transit in 1970. Seattle said "no," Atlanta said "ahem, we'll take the money," and that's how Atlanta got MARTA and Seattle got nada.
It's called clown range for a reason.

It’s not even affordable here for a lot of people anymore. We bought for 350k in 2014. It’s probably worth more like 550k now and would be way way out of our reach.

This country needs immigration controls asap. Okay to have immigrants but opening the floodgates in the middle of a housing crisis seems stupid.
