Stuffy, can you do a video tutorial on how to read the MJO forecast charts such as this one? I find them a bit confusing.

I've never dropped below -13.1C in the 15 years I've lived here. The airport may have gotten a bit colder due to better radiative cooling in that area.
Gotcha, ok yes must have been January 2012, looking at the records it seems the airport was flirting with -15 in the wee hours between Jan 17/18th 2012. Would love to see that again sometime.

Yes, they sprung up here too. Surprised me as last I remembered we weren't expecting any until Friday.

Special Weather Statement up for the Sunshine Coast now but for possible snow tomorrow morning, nothing about winds tonight. :dunno: :hmm:

The EPS has to get on board before I get really excited. Though last run didn't look bad but had the timing in the longer range.

Graphs with lines mean not much. I can take that same chart and put a polynomial line on it which shows different trends.

Nice! Maybe a sharpie too to point up instead of down?

I mean honestly. Its not the heat island affect, these graphs are not meaningless. how many hundreds of posts on here have repeatedly carried the message that winter has become a joke compared to those of decades ago? We shouldnt turn around and claim the stats that back those facts up are suddenly not valid due to this and that excuse.
