At a very minimum you need at least 100cm of snow on average in December. I don't care about daily lows, but highs should be low enough to keep snow in winter with very few summer hot days. Maybe just one extreme heatwave ever just to say you've had it hot.

BTW, -96°C is almost impossible. 58°C is possible but not in the upcoming years IMO. I think we'll see a 55-56°C somewhere between Iran, Kuwait, Iraq or Death Valley in less than 20 years.

Agree , bring back the 70's , maybe even the Summer of 69 , just no platform shoes , bell bottoms , or turtlenecks..this ain't no disco

I haven't looked into the climate of every place on earth but if you take everything into consideration like beauty, scenery, abundance of outdoor activities, etc, you probably can't beat the lower mainland. But more snow and cheaper real estate would be nice.

My ideal weather. Great idea Typers, really had to think about it and still ended up pretty vague.

Summer - h 22 - 25 one short (3 day) heatwave a summer, no hotter than 30c, rain at least once a week, preferably at night with the occasional rainy day tossed in
Fall - 14 hours of daylight (if we're wishing for weather why not), good mix of rain and sun, a thunderstorm or two, a windstorm
Winter - snow from December to end of Jan, falls and melts in a day or two with a couple of good blizzards 20 - 30 cm where it sticks around for a week. One deep freeze - 5 to -8 the rest just below 0 so it snows.
Spring - a nice mix of weather, sun and rain, couple of storms, nothing extreme

For me it would have to be Halifax, Nova Scotia because of the dynamic weather. Lots of freeze-thaw cycles in the winter with ample windstorms and nice summers though it can get very humid. The only downside is the lack of thunderstorms but the frequent winter storms make up for that in my opinion.

Me and my family are still planning to move to Ottawa in hopefully 4 years and honestly, the climate there is almost perfect. But if it were my choice, I’d still choose Halifax. Both are still a huge upgrade from here though.
