I check Earthnull to see where the smoke is coming from...doesn't show it very well today but sometimes it does...and it looks cool.

It always amazes me that some sites use these cheap map overlays, oddly shape coastline, Van. Ise and Haida Gwaii. :? overall good for smoke location.

Surface smoke became less of an issue to the west of Manning park and seemed to be mostly aloft after Sunshine valley. Also looked like areas east of Agassiz saw *some* rain this morning but basically nothing to the west.

Edit: Also seemed to be some surface level smoke in the Agassiz/Mission area but it's all aloft here in east Coquitlam.
Ouch these last 3 shots Tman are absolutely gross 😝 enjoyed the ride from here to Saskatoon and back thanks for letting me out of the trunk in the Whack.

When is the smoke supposed to clear out? it's absolutely gross when it's like this although the sun looks cool.

Probably in the next day or so as we go back to an onshore flow.

Models still showing a major heat event setting up in week 2. At this point this one looks like it would bring a lot of offshore flow.

Hopefully the rain materializes this week. Though we are seeing models pull back a bit on amounts. The ICON looked pretty pathetic with totals. Some places in the interior only get light accumulations.

Yup. So another smoke intrusion if we go into an offshore flow? And if so, temperatures will likely be cooler than modelled right?

Either way... yet another heat wave.

Could be. Depends how thick the smoke is and how much rain the fires received
