Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
We have a wind and heavy rain warning here- that means the weather will be slightly breezy with occasional light showers

Abbotsford is left out of the wind warning. I expect damaging winds with widespread power outages to impact the region.

The cold pool will help relieve things after the big sloppy dump.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 5:23 pm Rob: "18z OP. One word, "Anafront", but they are very tricky to forecast where the exact narrow corridor(usually) of moisture sets up, does temps aloft cool enough? do the gradients turn flat which is needed or perhaps light easterly/northerly, and are precip rates heavy and steady enough to progressively draw the snow level towards the surface. No idea. Stay tuned. Probably not. No. Stay tuned."
ANUSFRONT? Sounds like the northern side could see a sloppy mix and get dumped on.

Crap...here comes the North trend. That thing will probably end up hitting Port Hardy bringing us +15 southerly winds.

Oh snap that’s good. That made my night a lot better. Not that that would take much.

That is probably the most perfect track possible for you and I. Probably 15 km north and I'd be rain, and 20 or 30 km south and I would be spotty accumulations and so would you.

Too bad its not the Euro showing this. I honestly can't excited over the GFS runs. Next run it will be mild rains or dry.

4 days out is a bit early to be in the sweet spot. 48hrs or less is what you want. Then you still get to agonize every 6 hrs as the new models come out. Weather is fun.
