I was on the edge of my seat sitting on pins and needles the other day watching On a Wing and a Prayer, based on a true story from 2009. It was quite the team effort by various aviation experts to help the passenger land the King Air 200 safely after the pilot suddenly died. He did have some flying experience but they gave him less than a 10% chance of success.

Really feels like fall is here, but that is largely because I was in the most favoured zone for rain yesterday. It was mostly in a narrow band from the eastern Olympic Peninsula, through the San Juan and Gulf Islands, to the western zones of the Greater Vancouver area, and up Howe Sound.

Looks like Vancouver Harbour was the wettest reporting station in the province yesterday with 23.5 mm. 18.5 mm IMBY. Most stations got under 10 mm. Most interior stations got somewhere between a few mm and nothing at all. We are going to need a more widespread event to end fire season.

Woke up to some morning dew. Pavement was dry but lawn looked somewhat damp. Score!
