For the valley, it was pretty much level with January 2012. Otherwise I agree.Monty wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:55 am I guess model solutions showing 150cm of snow with lows of -20C should be looked at with just a pound of skepticism. It was probably some of the best powder snow a lot of people have seen in a decade or more. Anyway, every little microclimate has their own experiences, I think January had the coldest deep powder I’ve seen here since 1996.

It wasn't bad at all. I think it was the most intense 5 day period since Dec 2008.Monty wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:55 am I guess model solutions showing 150cm of snow with lows of -20C should be looked at with just a pound of skepticism. I think most here would take a period like that this year.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Hmmmm. the euro is showing some small accumulations here and about 6 or 8 gfs members are seeing 10+ cm on Monday here (new from overnight). I can see how that would happen, that low would have to track east and just graze us as an anafront type setup. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

The EPS digs the trough a little deeper than the Op.

Still looking like actual blocking is going to be a problem. GEPS looking more progressive again today.

Not a big fan of the long range EPS today. The ridge is trending further East.
