Just sprinkles so far here, but radar indicates heavier precip is about to hit.
It's called clown range for a reason.

This would send a major cold wave into the Eastern half of the continent and another lobe into Europe (2014/15 redux). Would be ideal for any SSW to hold off until Jan/Feb when conditions are more favorable.

I find it hard to believe December 2020 will be as lame (or more) as December 2019.

COME ON!
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Also this is a Siberian one and from what I can see now, North Atlantic ones are better for GOA blocking.

I just adopted the mentally that it is what it is. At the end of the day we can't control the weather 🤷 I hope we see a nice cold and snowy winter but if not oh well. We should be alright tho in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah pretty much. There is no control.

It's an interesting analogue to covid "positive cases" and their relation to increasingly restrictive measures. There is no causitive effect. :smirky:

Those pesky Daoists and Nietzscheans are looking all the more correct these days, eh? (don't expect anyone to know what I'm talking about but I digress, I am fucking drunk).

Very much acting like a strong +ENSO.

That block and GOA trough looks semi-permanent and seems like a feature that can linger around for 6-8 weeks. I could even see the block on the west coast strengthening if we see SSW by mid Dec.
