Excellent interview with Justin's half brother. "Carney doesn't give a crap about anybody but himself. "

Re: Politics
Huge pendulum swing... just like when the Liberals went down 20 points in just under 2 months during the 1984 election campaign.

Re: Politics
Increasingly looking like we could end up with a near two-party split in parliament with support for traditionally relatively strong 3rd parties like the NDP and Bloc Quebecois cratering. The NDP having a weak leader and aligning with the Liberals over the past few years has certainly done them no favours, while anti-Canadian Trump and American rhetoric has seemingly (temporarily?) softened the sovereignty movement in Quebec.

Re: Politics
A couple of comments I found
"As I'm British I have no dog in the fight, but after Carney stint over the Bank of England, I wouldn't trust him change a toilet roll nevermind let him run a country. He's controlled by Klaus at the WEF."
"PP is not perfect, no politician is, but anything less than conservative majority will officially surrender Canada to the WEF."
What did the WEF say a few years ago, "you'll own nothing and you'll be happy."

Re: Politics
Edit: Looks like this theory was based on the assumption that Poilievre would win. Here's an excerpt from an article I posted a few days ago.
Article source: https://torontosun.com/news/national/fe ... -relations
Article source: https://torontosun.com/news/national/fe ... -relations
I'm really starting to think that this theory that the Liberals are going to silently fold shortly after if they win the election is no conspiracy. The whole thing just seems really strange to me. Carney makes a bold statement that the Canada and US relationship is over. Then the next day he supposedly has a productive conversation with Trump where we are told they agree on many issues. Trump was more respectful and said that he thinks Canada and the US will have a great relationship together. How can we explain these sudden shifts in tone? Well, the fold after election theory would explain it. Essentially, Carney's goal is to convince Canadians that he will stand up to Trump. But behind closed doors, he simply gives into his demands. Trump suddenly has a change in tone and suggests that the Canada and US relationship will be great. The mainstream media picks up on all this and uses it to further support the narrative that Carney is the best choice to stand up to Trump. This makes perfect far left journalism. The message here is simple. Why would we elect Poilievre when Trump and Carney are supposedly best friends and have a plan to end the trade war? But in reality, it's all a clever trick to gain Liberal support. Now of course this theory could be wrong but it does make sense given the what has unfolded as of recent. It’s important to remember that Ian Bremmer, the head of political consultancy company the Eurasia Group – also the employer of Carney’s wife, his campaign manager Gerry Butts and his star Toronto candidate Evan Solomon – has said Ottawa will fold to Washington after the vote.
Bremmer now says he made those comments yesterday by assuming Poilievre would win. His whole job is determining risk for companies based on political changes and he has three friends tight with Carney – he’s either really bad at his job or is embarrassed that he got caught saying Carney would fold to Trump.

Re: Politics
Canada and the US will always have a relationship, but that could mean basically anything. There has to be some degree of security cooperation since we share a border, and I'm sure there will still be plenty of trade.
What Carney said is that the old relationship of deep integration is over. In other words, no more sending the same car part across the border four times before the final vehicle is completed. No more relying on the US to buy most our resources because we couldn't be bothered to seek out other trade partners. We've relied on a single country for nearly 80% of our exports, and this trade war has highlighted what a huge mistake that was.
We need to build up our own industry rather than relying on US companies to set up plants here. We need to get our resources to tidewater and form new trade agreements. It's not going to be easy but Canada will be stronger in the end.

And that's what Poilievre has been preaching. I don't trust globalist net zero Carney to change his spots .Abby_wx wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 11:26 pm Canada and the US will always have a relationship, but that could mean basically anything. Re: Politics
I don’t trust that Ian Bremmer was making those comments assuming Pollievre would win because he hasn’t been leading in the main polls for a few weeks.

Re: Politics
Mark Carney has been advising the government for the past few years. Brutal economic results. When Trudeau was elected Canada had 90% of the wealth of the US. Today it's below 70%.
