I'm the opposite... I can't stand our "usual" rain, but I don't mind days like this. At least it's not half-assed. In my opinion, there are few things worse than suffering through a whole week of rain and only ending up with 50 mm to show for it.

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Definitely a soggy day down this way, with streams and ponds extra-high. I live on a low plateau that contains a mosaic of wetlands, so there’s lots of swollen ponds and streams to see. Thankfully, being a plateau area, there’s no water coming in from elsewhere upstream to make it flood. Everything we get falls right here from the sky then slowly drains away.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Just got home as well. 46.9 mm so far today. 62.9 mm past 48 hours. Abbotsford is lame when it comes to AR events and often when it comes to snowfall. Its a frustrating location for the type of weather I enjoy. Its either the S winds or dry NE winds that messes things up for me. Oh well, this is still an impressive storm for my location and now the winds are blowing the heavy rain around.

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
18Z GFS is insane. After this AR event, we go to snow and then another AR event late next week?
Here's the 18Z GFS meteogram for Abbotsford:

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
High level winds are just ripping by right now. The clouds are sailing.
Not much wind at ground level. Light gusty winds.
Temp 11.0
The amount of rain today was insane but totally awesome.
Can't believe there is not more photos of flooding or report on the news/social media.
Although, heading south down 168 street, just south of Fraser Highway you can see all the fields are totally flooded. Looks like a new lake!!
