I'm actually in close agreement with Johnny. I think the late December period around or just after Christmas into early January has big potential. :D  8-) :snowman:

Since I'm unable to mount an actual wind gauge in my complex, I was considering getting a portable anemometer that I can use to check wind speeds during storms. I often go out walking during windstorms to experience the storm, and figure this may be a fun tool to carry around. However, I'm not sure how reliable or accurate the measurements are, given the fact that they aren't mounted high since they are handheld devices. Has anyone on here had any experience with them?

For once, tell us when it's going to snow and put a HappyFace Emoticon  :D :D beside it. Then upload some photos of you rolling around in snowbank

I have very little confidence in EC's forecast for snow out here in the valley tonight. Maybe as far east as Hope but I doubt any precip will fall as snow any further west than that. We'll see I guess.

Another oldie goodie by Jr:

Arctic High
By AbbyJr
Parody of American Pie
By Don McLean

A long long time ago
I can still remember
How our winters used to make me smile
And I knew every single year
We’d have at least a little cheer
‘Cause it would snow for a little while

But winters come and it has died
My hopes were up but the models lied
Bad news all together
We’re stuck in this warm weather

I still remember the good old days
When at the falling snow I’d gaze
But the weather turned to its own ways
And that day our winter died
So

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

Did you hope we’d have some fun
And do you think winters yet to come
If the experts tell you so?
Do you believe only when you see?
The snow on the roads and trees?
And can you help me to enjoy this warm breeze?

For I know that it’s not ending soon
‘Cause I saw the Global news at noon
The forecast crushed my dreams
Not a flake in sight it seems

All the snowy hopes have turned to dust
This was the biggest fail and winter bust
But I knew I was out of luck
The day that winter died
I started singin’

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

Now in recent years the cold has been unknown
‘Cause the Arctic is dead in a warming zone
But, that’s not how it used to be

When our winters came with lots of snow
And a high of minus ten below
What a score that came for you and me

Oh, and while the snow was falling down
The cold winds blew it all around
The blizzard was alive
But it just couldn’t survive

And now the climate is changing fast
The weather's dull and it looks to last
So we reminisced about the past
The day that winter died
We were singin’

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

Wetter forever this lame weather
The rain fell hard its not getting better
An inch so far and falling fast

It soaked up all of our green grass
A stalled low and a warm air mass
With the jet stream pattern this will last

Now the spring-like air has settled in
With more rain set soon to begin
We all got real upset
Oh, this winter we’ll forget

‘Cause La Nina tried and then it failed
The models now have since derailed
And all the pineapples prevailed
The day that winter died
We started singin’

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

Oh, and everything was all set in place
But the outflow couldn’t win the race
And this time the rain fell again

But wait! Come on cold be strong, cold be quick!
It started snowing but it won’t stick
‘Cause its cold but not cold enough

Oh, and I as I watched the falling snow
Melt as it hit the ground below
No shovel needed now
Forget calling the plow

And as the flakes fell fast they turned to rain
The climate here is really lame
But I knew I would see the flame
The day that winter died
I was singin’

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

I am guy with the winter blues
‘Cause nothing good is in the news
So I just went and hid away

I had hoped for an epic storm
But the temperatures were way too warm
And all the experts said the snowstorm wouldn’t come

And in the streets the children cried
On the forums it was a model ride
But not a word was spoken
Our hearts have all been broken

Still the three men I admire most
Are Monty, Typeing, and Wetcoast
Well their still here but the arctic’s toast
The day that winter died
And we were singin’

Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye
Winter cancel winter goodbye

We all were singin’
Bye, bye Mr. Arctic High
Maybe see you back next winter and again we will try
But until then I’ll hope that spring is warm and dry
Singin’ winter cancel winter goodbye

Temp suddenly dropped a whole degree at YVR in about 15 minutes...radar also seems to be trying to push in from the west. Hmm...
