One that will never develop because it's the GFS. But it's fun to look at anyways.

How did you like it? If you're just going to visit, it's fine. But I went there with friends a year ago, and it's really true when they call it a zombie city with stores leaving and shutting down. I thought the media was exaggerating, but they weren't. If anything, they understated it. I met a guy there who had lived his whole life in San Francisco, and he said he can't put into words how downhill it has gone and how his wife and him don't feel safe. They were robbed twice in a span of three years after living there for 40 years with no issues.

Side note: the forum is very slow today. There are long load times when you click anything.

Roberts Creeker wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 5:10 pm Interesting you brought this up. A very silly question but I've been wondering what would it take to have a snow storm in the summer, June 21 counts

We had that year of never-before weather, tornado, heat dome, flooding but missed out on snow so what crazy weather system would it take to make snow in Vancouver in June...I'm looking for something more detailed than a very cold snap eg, what would have to happen to give us that really cold snap in June. Maybe a volcano putting ash high enough up to block the sun or ???
the "Year without a Summer", happened in 1815, the eruption of Mt Tambora which according to Wikipedia was the last a few years with significant volcano eruptions and "On June 6, snow fell in Albany, New York, and Dennysville, Maine"

had to look this up again, recall reading this in a Brian Fagan book

No thank you. We don’t need it 40C but I’m tired of all the rain.

To be fair, it's not officially summer yet, and we've had enough summer heat in the last five to six years to have one cooler and wetter-than-normal summer! The heat will eventually come, though.
