David Lindley, what an amazing musician. He could play dozens of different instruments. I didn't know he died until today.

Saddened to hear the passing of Canadian icon Gordon Lighfoot he was 84 R.I.P.
Loved his tunes growing up still do.

I must've missed it earlier. He was a genius, and apparently a perfectionist after watching a documentary recently, the song arrangements had to be perfect in his eyes before he would release the songs. His music and voice were very distinct, great melodies with great storytelling.

What I didn't know until I read the cbc article, was that his first wife was the one who was involved with John Belushi's drug overdose.

This was the first Lightfood tune l heard released in Jan/68 I was 8yrs. old heard this on CKLG it was about the Detroit riots in July of 68

Much to my surprise as well skipper Gumpers the man in black did indeed record those two tunes.
I'm not sure if he recorded them after Simon & Garfunkle had a hit with sound of silence and The Animals did the house of the rising sun,
I must admit they sound good but in a eerie way. :shifty:

Looks like you and Glacier man both got duped ,Johnny Cash never sang those songs. Those are recorded by the Ghost of Johnny Cash.
