Oh oh, SWS issued for the central valley, Saturday night thru Sunday night time frame.
Say's possible rainfall warnings to follow. :o :eek: the SWS is from Hope to Vancouver island.
The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster
Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
Metro Vancouver - southeast including Surrey and Langley
Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta

Heavy rain and strong wind expected.

Location: South Coast including Vancouver Island.

Timespan: Saturday night to Sunday night.

Remarks: An atmospheric river will bring continuous rain and mild temperatures to the south coast from Saturday night to Sunday night. Significant amounts of rainfall will fall during this period and rainfall warnings are likely to be issued as the event nears. The mild temperatures will elevate snow levels and precipitation along the highway passes will fall as rain.

Strong southeast winds are expected to develop through the Strait of Georgia for Saturday night and Sunday.

Wow was it pissing rain in Langley all night :shock:
The mushrooms are happy. Let's keep the 0c away for another 7 days and the harvest will be "golden" :hearteyes: :hearteyes:

00Z Euro. Just wanted to mention that there is some favourable blocking showing up long term. Although the trough digs a bit too far offshore, it is something to watch and might bode well for an early season cold snap.

Looks like the rain pushes through by later Monday morning on Halloween on the Euro.

I know Bono was looking forward to taking the kids out in the pouring rain.

We'll see what happens.

Sort of like the greenhouse effect. If there was no greenhouse effect at all, the Earth’s surface would have an average temperature around -20°C (welcome to Hoth). The problem isn’t the thing itself, it’s human-caused intensification of the thing.
