When the smoke is so bad that you can’t see the mountains from a building almost on the Vancouver Harbour waterfront… it’s bad.
Imagine going back in time 15 years and telling yourself this is what Vancouver bc would look like on October 18th
It just gets more absurd by the day.
Low level inversion could be making things worse with fog on top of the smoke in at night and in the mornings too. Good news is this will all be a distant memory by the weekend.

It's too bad, I'd like to go out and get some last remnants of summer but it's nasty out there.
I find shallow breaths through the nose are helpful, otherwise you taste that grit and it gets into your respiratory system.

Lovely to have you back Kells, did you fully recover from your bout with Covid? or did you suffer long haulers.
I know of one person l know still hacking up 3 months later. it's 16c @ the pond in south Sardis and grossly smoky.

It's worse here today. can smell it and it's pretty hazy not as bad as the valley but worst it's been this year. Reminds me of last summer.

Typeing man or the Goose can correct me if I am wrong, but average rainfall in October at YVR is 120mm. So, if the GEM verifies, we could conceivably finish near normal for the month.

Love the new fall avatar Ms. Smokycreeks, very colorful unlike the dried up grass and brown dirty leaves in the central valley this year, not much color at all the trees are absolutely stressed and look sick.
It's currently 11c @ the pond in south Sardis and pea soup smoke.
