Once again, the GFS is fairly dry overall.

6z GFS has that trough just brushing us... and then back to ridging for the rest of the run.

You would think that it wouldn't be possible to have this "drought" continue much longer but who really knows anymore.

I’m inclined to stick with the Euro. The GFS has had a couple of wins, but the Euro is far superior in my opinion. And, especially during seasonal changes.

New forest fire in the Eagle Lake area in West Van. I think there is are arsonists trying to start fires along the N Shore. The last 2 in the Burke Mountain were not situated near any trails.

The fire danger and drought in the region is very severe. Reservoir will last us through the winter but the water table for the ecology looks ugly. A core sample I examined showed no :raindrip: down to depths of 30cms in some grass fields along the N Shore.

Depressing thing is that models are keeping is drier than normal into early Nov.

Our new normal sucks. It is devastating our ecosystem right before our eyes.

Well, if you like rain, better root for the Euro over the GFS. This is ridiculous.

Whoa this is crazy, I was up there near Whyte lake yesterday evening hiking and searching for some mushrooms. When I went off the trail I saw this little burn pile way up in the mountains in a super random location and it looked relatively fresh...I should've taken a photo something didnt feel right. Only saw a few faces yesterday when I was coming up but I remember them all...wondering if I should contact the police?

The people that do this are absolute garbage human beings and should be put away for a long time when caught.

That looks more typical of a midsummer NW frontal passage that often is either accompanied by a few showers or completely dry.

It being mid October , are people taking advantage of the summer like temperatures and still hitting the local lakes like Sasamat , Buntzen , Cultus, and going swimming? I'm curious whether the water is still warm enough for a dip, or has the water temps dipped with the overnight temps. This weekend could be the last kick at the can for parents like Bono and Nito to take their kidos to the local beach/lake.
