I'd imagine that the receding of the glaciers will be extreme this year due to the extended late heat.

The models are showing a trough being closer to the coast allowing some systems to brush on by. This could easily change. It should also be noted there is more recurving typhoons ( Typhoons where the track "curves" into a NE direction in the North Pacific) expected in the Western Pacific that could throw the models for another loop. We know the models are flip floppy when there are recurving typhoons and we could end up with a big ridge lasting longer or a heavy rainfall pattern around mid month.
