I don't think the strawberries faired well in the lower mainland as well.
I didn't hear much about the blueberry crop but l'm guessing not good as well.
I noticed the corn crop in the central valley got off to a slow start but quickly rebounded we had some sweet Chilliwack corn just last week it was most tasty.

Ok , so if Vancouver belongs in the dumpster, then which Canadian city or cities in your opinion has avoided the landfill , and you could see yourself living there.

I'll swim into the pond on this one skipper, growing up in Vancouver city l must say it has slowly deteriorated hence that's why l've slowly moved away although not as perfect as l'd like it. Although there is no perfect place only what's in your comfort zone.
Chilliwack has it's issues but l like the smaller town feel still not my end location still have to see where that is going forward.

I’m talking strictly weather. The weather by itself is not reason enough to move. For me anyway. I just believe our local climate is a dumpster fire now.

I get what you're saying , one can easily go off on a tangent and include all sorts of things when talking about the pros and cons of living in Vancouver, but we are primarily talking about the Summer weather in metro Vancouver. So I was just wondering which other Canadian cities would or wouldn't have the same garbage stamp of approval for entering the Summer weather landfill.

I mean not to get into it but I can literally name a few things
1. Summer is hot garbage now that's unenjoyable, Like I can't go out and enjoy 35c weather
2. Winters suck. It's literally just rainy and snowless.
3. Vancouver is called the no fun city for a reason
4. Housing prices are ridiculous

You go back just a bit it never use to be this hot for so long. We use to have a couple heatwaves a year that were not as intense or long which was fine. Now it's like a heatwave every week that stretches into September.

I still love Vancouver but it's not the same anymore.

Hit a high of 30c @ the pond in south Sardis its currently 22c.
I wouldn't want to live in the similkameens lol I mean hawk clearly doesn't either since he only goes up like once a year for a week yet talks about it daily even tho he's in Langley. So can't be that great.

Yes, agree l was just targeting living conditions which definitely would include weather. My fishy reply would have to be l don't really think there's a city or town in Canada that has the perfect summer weather. :wtf: every location has their issues and it bothers some in different ways as well.
I.E. too hot too cold too many mosquitoes too much fog coastal locales. Too dry too wet just look at our roving Ant 🐜 he's trying to find the ultimate climate perhaps he found it we will find out after this winter. l must add when my parents were alive they lived in Richmond and l was in Maple Ridge so l enjoyed going to their house to cool off on hot summer day's. So by the water is that the perfect place in the summer again it's all ones preference.

 personally l think he works for travel B.C. in the Shamilkameeeeeeeenzzzz, some roadside kiosk next to a couple of portable pit stops
 it's a comfortable 19c @ the pond in south Sardis.

I made mention of Kells not being around much this summer on the forum's.
I think perhaps like Arbes has a boat load of kids. I know Kells mentioned he has a bit of farm land and animals so probably not much time lately to post other than hiding in the can to post once in awhile he'll be back this fall.

22c @ 3a.m. out in Agassiz :o with a NE breeze just enough to keep the temperature elevated.
But yet it's 18c @ the pond in south Sardis with calm winds.
So l question the non existent heat warning for the central valley with the elevated overnight temps. this morning :? what a disaster E.C. has become over the years at getting it right.

And here it is..December 2024 all snow geeks have been waiting for :silent: ..with the LR weather "charts" calling for a cold and snowy month. Where's the troffing? :silent: :silent:

Sounds like a great place for variable weather and 4 seasons. Or you go 300km east instead of 3000...to the Similkameens instead

Count me in. I like summer..at 25c and some variability. Last summers joooooke run of 43c x3 days and this year friggen btbtbtbtb heat domes are too much. One extreme to the next. Yet we never score any extreme winter weather. Sad  But I'll give it a solid C- anyways 8-)
