Re: August 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I hit 32.4C and my low was 14.0C. Heat warning criteria is 33/17, but for simplicity let's just say a daily mean of 25C. My daily mean was 23.2C, so a couple degrees shy of warning criteria.Monty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:53 am Not saying I agree with it but the thresholds for a heat warning are lower in some places when compared to the Fraser valley. We are under a heat warning here as well. ECs forecast is quite a bit hotter for the east island than for Abbotsford. 34C today and 33C tomorrow

That's most likely overdone or is it the new norm 40c in late August. it's currently 28c @ the pond in south Sardis.

Re: August 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I have a place in the Philippines in Bohol. Well technically my wife does as foreigners cannot own land there. I've experienced 2 typhoons there as well. If you like extreme weather you'll find lots of it in the Philippines that's for sure. There are almost daily tropical thunderstorms during the Habagat (rainy season) but the humidity is no fun. The 1st picture is a thundercloud taken from about 50 km away (Cebu harbour looking SE toward Bohol). The 2nd picture is taken from my terrace in Bohol looking at a dissipating thunderhead at sunset.

Nocturnal shot of TCU east of Chilliwack it's hanging in there still but probably will dissipate with sun down.
