Where was this? I haven't listened to Heart in a long time. I read that all the kids of today are listening to the old songs.

Re: August 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
What an absolute horrendous night for trying to sleep without a decent fan or AC, temps remain in the lower 20's @ 3a.m. in the fraser valley l'm sure greater Vancouver is just as bad.
What a waste all those beautiful TStorms well off the coast heading N/NW. weird but our Tstorms that never materialize tend to find a strange route away from southern B.C.

Re: August 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I'll find the report and post it again because we have new members who haven't seen it. Plus it's just so awesome, I just wanna post it, LOL.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 11:03 pm What did the report have to say? Did they conclude it was a tornado?
They said they couldn't fully rule out a tornado but they felt it was more likely a strong downburst. They said they cannot say it WASN'T a tornado but it was too far after the event to look for the further evidence needed to confirm. The pics of the damage I sent them showed full sized cedar trees being snapped clean at only a couple of feet above the ground. This indicated it was a VERY powerful wind but I think they were looking for some other piece of evidence that I couldn't provide and so they couldn't say it WAS a tornado but they couldn't say it wasn't, either. So I think they called it a powerful downburst in absence of the full criteria being provided to rule a tornado.
I wish they'd have sent out a team to check out the damage and look into it right away but it was such a localized event that I was surely the only person who contacted the weather office- being the nerd that I am. And since it happened after dark, there weren't eye-witness accounts of seeing a funnel. The reason I even suspected a tornado was because it cut a clear path of damage across a several block radius but anywhere outside that radius was untouched. I new something was up when I called my in-laws right after the event to see if they sustained as much damage as my neighbourhood and they said, "what are you talking about? What windstorm?" And they live a mere few blocks away from me to my northwest. Like a 3 minute drive, or 15 minute walk. That's when I knew something was up. So I went out in daylight to follow the path of the damage and take pics. On one street, half of the houses on one side of the road had downed trees and damage, the other side was untouched.
It's been a while since I read the report so it'll be fun to re-share it and get some new perspective from people here.

Any model that does not model the anti-thunderstorm force field at the border is a crap model.
It's called clown range for a reason.
