Komo

Saturday looks equally mild, but building high pressure means building heat and the return of the sunshine by Sunday. Highs climb steadily into the 80s next week, with models predicting another chance at hitting 90 degrees by next Thursday

Hmmmmm. Makes ya wonder.

As for tornadoes, do you guys remember a few years back when I was SURE a tornado came right over my house and cut a path through a small part of Maple Ridge? And I took pics and sent all of my obs and data to EC and they had someone look into it because it actually showed that it very well could have been a F0 tornado or a strong downburst? I still have the 30 page report they sent me with all kinds of maps they went back to look at from the time I reported the event. It is one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me, I swear- both the wind event AND having an unexpected 30 page report mailed to me a couple of months later discussing the event.

All of this to say, I know we are joking about tornadoes here tomorrow but lemme tell you...it CAN happen. Because it happened to me. It was the strongest wind I've ever experienced but very quick. My whole family was home and would also tell you it was INSANE. The wind sounded like a train coming down the side of my house. I've never heard anything like it before or since. I am so furious I didn't have my weather station back then!
That reminds me of a weird experience I had about 30 years ago. Got off work and heading South on Hwy 99 towards white rock around 4pm. Unsettled weather and skies getting darker as I'm about 5 min away from my exit, I'm in the slow lane when suddenly there's a sharp and quick gust of wind and next thing l know I'm in the fast lane..I did not turn my steering wheel, the wind pushed me there. . Fortunately there was nobody in the other lane. It then started hailing , but I still couldn't believe what just happened.

That was pretty impressive. I watched that video many times, just watching the trees being blown down and the branches circling in the air pretty amazing.

I'm glad to see we still have a Heat Warning up for tomorrow, it's going to hit a whopping 25c...or maybe it's for tonight with a low of 19c? It doesn't make sense to me, and I thin it just makes people disregard it when they do this. I know it sure lessens my belief in it being hot when I see that up.

Currently 21c in Sechelt and 20.3 in Roberts Creek.

Yes, warm overnight lows can trigger heat warnings.

Thanks! We have live music in Gibsons and Sechelt but it's on the weekends.
