If your lucky enough to score parking (before 7:00 am) at Lake Louise it’s a zoo. Was quite surprised how busy it’s gotten. Cannot even get into the hotel or at least Its discouraged. Had a drink at the Banff Springs no issue be there are signs everywhere at Lake Louise that the hotel is for guests.

Getting to Moraine Lake was not possible by car. Was there at 4:45am to try for Sentinel Pass which I had done many years ago but the lot was already full and tightly controlled. Don’t remember it being that way. Ended up parking at Lake Louise up the road and hiking the Big Bee Hive instead. Had lake Agnes all to my self I was so early. Took a shuttle the next day to Moraine to sight see.

Crazy how busy things are.
Nice Cloves.

 At least when you got back you'd know where to look.
Yes it is a nice reset to get away now like l mentioned last year we were able to do 2 short camping trips 2020 was a disaster nothing summer. This year the Gilligan's island trip we were going for 7 days but wife said do we have to go back and l said you read my mind. so we stayed 3 extra day's and had 4 day's left before back to work for me.

Glad I was able to stay in Banff as many times as I did in the past... not sure how viable that'll be in the future given how busy and expensive it's gotten to stay in town. Even Canmore is like a mini-Banff now.

Yep, Lake Louise is a gong show after 7am. Last time I passed through in 2019, got there at 8am and there was absolutely no parking available at all. Whereas even just a decade before you'd be able to easily get parking up there at that time. Also done the hike up from there to the tea house at Agnes Lake a couple of times before... that's a good one for sure.

Her. You got the better of HER. Only female mosquitoes consume blood.

The heat has all but killed off the major hatching.
Yes, these mosquitos must be the aggressive breed moving in from another area.

So that area is running at full capacity..great news for the local economy, yet sad for the locals that want to go visit. Sounds like a great area to avoid. Maybe they could build it up and expand the resorts if its so popular, as well it should be. It's an amazing draw. That entire zone should develop into an oversized Whistler/Yellowstone type area. I think it would be a huge draw. By the times its done, maybe my grandkids would enjoy it? (They are not born yet)

Those 850's are pretty much dropping off a cliff, esp the GFS
This heat is bearable(barely), but 23c-25c and variable days with mostly sun/some cloud is my ideal summer weather.

Also just noted...usually the wild blackberries are ripening at the end of July(now would be picking time). This year, they are wayyy behind schedule. My guess is another 2-3 weeks. Rubus have you been taking note?

Howdy everyone! Hope you're all surviving well these days 😎

I was just wondering when the last time we have had this many days in a row over 30° Celsius, say, at yxx...

By the looks of it, this stretch could end up going a full 7 days which would be pretty impressive for Abbotsford.

I've been going to the river every day this week so far.... Been super nice.

Lytton RCS hit 42.0 / 41.1 the last 2 days... I wonder if they'll crack it again today :)

Wouldn't be surprised if we continue to see mid-upper 30s through Friday. Ridge axis doesn't appear to shift E until late Saturday.

Sunday and Monday look very very interesting. :lightning: :lightning:
Are you still thinking we will see some lightning Sunday & Monday??

Chances now look slim.

Not that we want lightning now with the recent dry stretch. An extended rainy stretch would be more welcoming.
