Yes  and when it would heat up this quickly when I lived in Portland, some 40°C max temperatures were pretty much a sure thing by evening.

Wouldn't be surprised if we continue to see mid-upper 30s through Friday. Ridge axis doesn't appear to shift E until late Saturday.
Sunday and Monday look very very interesting.

Looks like the offshore flow came for YVR, which makes 30 look likely at the airport. Somewhat unexpected, actually.

Honestly a summer with 23-25c would be perfect. I know these heatwaves usually don’t last long but they are getting more extreme and longer lasting in the past decade.
