Indeed that is Glace, but YYJ does decent in certain set ups yesterday must have been one of them.

Tonights forecast Low in Abby is 17c

Re: June 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
We have central AC at our place. It is south facing and we have large windows along the front of the house. The house would be unbearably hot in the summer and it was tough getting the kids to sleep, so we decided to invest in the AC. Glad we did.

For the first time in a long time I'm basking in the heat instead of bitching about it. Feels so good to soak in the vitamin D. Welcome to the dark side?

Absolutely. Just a correction: the heat in the East is like a hammam, not a sauna.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 9:03 pm Humidity? What humidity? Like I said a few times before ,to me it's a non starter,a nothing burger around these parts , rarely does it feel muggy to me. Humidity here compared to back east, Montreal ,Toronto, etc is like night and day. I have felt high humidity at 30° in Montreal and it felt like a sauna . I have never felt anything near that here in BC.
To me, humid is when the dew point is above 16-18°C. Very humid is above 22°C. I've experienced 25°C in QC and even more in Asia.

Well today was just about perfect. I like this heat but perhaps not forever.... Loved being by the river and lake, nice to get out of the water and not feel cold.

Re: June 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
The valley gets significantly more humid than Metro Vancouver. I didn't realize that until I moved here. Dew points of 16-20C with a humidex near 40C or higher is not really that unusual. Of course, dew points of 22C or higher only happens during significant heat waves.
Today was warm and pleasantly dry though. The dew point was only around 15C.

Made it up to 30.9ËšC this afternoon. Good thing is that the humidity is pretty low with this one so not oppressive.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Last year’s June heat wave was oppressively humid, but it really is the only one in 30+ years of living in the Northwest that has been so.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 4:51 pm Absolutely. Just a correction: the heat in the East is like a hammam, not a sauna.

I was in Chicago in August 20 years ago, and the day I arrived had dew points were where people here gripe about the humidity yet everyone there was congratulating themselves on now nice and cool and crisp it was. It then proceeded to get truly hot and humid. I remember waiting 10 minutes for a bus at 10:00 PM, and getting thoroughly drenched in sweat (for doing nothing but stand around for 10 minutes).

Re: June 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm interested to know how many more heat waves we are going to see this summer. Looking at the latest weather models, I don't see anything significant in the foreseeable future. That said, one or two more heat events similar to this one wouldn't surprise me. It will be interesting to see how the weather pattern plays out in July and August.
