At least it warmed up, highest temp of 11.5 was yesterday at 11 pm, it kept warming up until then and leveled off, falling again this morning. It sure was nice being warm outside.

It's been windy since last night but has mostly died down now. Power was out at some point in the night but back on in the morning.

I was outside feeding everyone when I heard a crack and saw some branches falling out the corner of my eye. Turns out they were pretty darn big.

Cute little cones starting on the Douglas Fir.

7C, windy, and partly cloudy today. Very pleasant. Wind has died down now though.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

The ECMWF weeklies are continuing to advertise colder than normal temps through the first week of June when looking at 7 day averages.

Going off recent times, it sure feels like a 2008/2011 repeat so far this spring.

On this day in 2016 we were in the middle of an early season heatwave, with temps across the region hovering between 25c and 30c.

On the flip side, temps hovered around 7-8c today at midday.

Similar temps around here today.

On an unrelated note, however, you should update your signature!

The never ending winter. Interesting to experience a La Nina spring. I'm sure we've had them before but this is the first one I've known about. Because of this forum, I know so much more about the weather, so thank you everyone! it's also a nice place to hang out.

Weather history is not something I know yet, so what did summer 2008/2011 look like?

If it was today, they would'a been running from the floods! I was visiting a friend in Langdale and it was just coming down non-stop heavy rain the roads had water running across or down them depending which way they were sloped. It wasn't as bad in Roberts Creek but still a wet day and inside day for the sheep.
