Help getting precipitation data.

Hey, a friend of mine is in dire straits. He says this is absolutely the wettest summer they've ever had such that half of his hay fields at a total loss (too wet to drive a tractor into them).

With half the normal hay crop they will have to sell half their herd to pay their bills.

Because EC no longer has nearby weather stations at Anahim Lake, they face a government who says they are out to lunch claiming this was the wettest summer on record. If the government won't believe them, they aren't eligible for disaster assistance.

Does anyone know how to dig up the historical data for Anahim Lake and any other Chilcotin weather stations?

They want to compare July-September 2019 to the very wet summer of 2016.

Personally, I think more years and months would be better.

What a disaster that the government won't believe them thanks to their absurd policy of shutting down weather stations now it's starting to come back to bite them. How much more proof do they need that it's been too wet you can see it and hear it when they walk I hope it works out for your friends ice man.

Brutally wet summer. Here are some stats for Puntzi Mountain:

1) May-Sept has had 267 mm of precipitation. That's less than 10 mm shy of what Puntzi normally gets in an entire year! Add in October, and it's well over a year's worth of rain in under half a year.
2) June-September has 228mm, or 198% of normal.
3) July-September was 184mm, or 233% of normal.
4) September had 85 mm, or 400% (4 times) normal September amounts.
5) This was by FAR the wettest September on record. The previous record from 1977 was 47 mm (though no data exists from 1980 to 1993).

Also, wettest September on record at both Princeton (68.7 mm) and Summerland (85.3 mm). These stations both have continuous data since the 1930s.

Is Puntzi Mountain one of the longest running stations in the chilcotin and was it the wettest summer on record? Perhaps try using stations such as Williams Lake or Quesnel as well.
