RIP Mike Bossy. The only player to score 50 goals nine seasons in a row, and perhaps the greatest goal scorer of all time.

Awe Glace l just heard that on the news at 6a.m. l posted a couple weeks ago he had entered palliative care, remember watching him do circles around the Knuckles what a gem.
It's sad as you age and all these sports or entertainment stars start passing its life but it still sucks l'm 62 Bossy was only 65 life is so short.

Horvat to miss at least 2 weeks, Hoglander out indefinitely

Just as I thought, sounds like a minor leg fracture.

Big difference though, Brazil was a somebody , Canucks beat up a nobody. I take it that soccer is your #1 sport.

Oh I get the difference in relative quality in both teams in both respective sports. Just seeing the same scoreline reminded me of that match.

Yep, soccer is #1 for me, closely followed by hockey, then basketball is a distant third.

Legend of the game. RIP.

Islanders surely would never have won 4 in a row without him.

Not sure. :?

Those are names I have not heard in quite some time. Just makes you think of how insanely good that Islanders team in the early 80s was.

Yes indeed goaltender Billy Smith was the worst when it came to hacking his opponents with his goal stick followed by Ron (Hack)Hexstall of the Flyers .
Check out some of there antics on You Tube goaltenders now adays would never get away with it.

Islanders entered the league in 72,just 2 years after the canucks, and yet became so unbelievably good in such a short period of time, made playoffs in their 3rd year and then 4 consecutive Stanley Cups. Must've been some really good drafting and some good trades. Denis Potvin was a no brainer at 1st overall, but Bossy was drafted 15th and Trottier 2nd rounder. Clark Gillies was 4th overall.

And the Canucks? Sabres? Unfortunately their claim to fame is having the most seniority in the NHL Sad Club.

Sabres wasted a glorious chance early on when they had their famous "French connection" line, lead by none other than Gilbert Perrault. Another legend of the game.

That surprised me as well Tstar l recall those great season with that outstanding french connection line but something must have been missing to take them to that next level.
Goaltending leadership? the Westcoast express imagine if we had Luongo during those early day's.
