Abby_wx wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 10:40 am We've been paying the same or more than Vancouver all month, even though our taxes are about 11 cents less. That's only fair because of how much we have to drive, but we're being hosed right now.
It's crazy that Vancouver has been even lower than the interior lately because in addition to the lower tax rate, the wholesale rack price in Kamloops and especially Prince George should take another 3 to 10 cents off per litre. On the 9th the wholesale price in Prince George was 10 cents lower, but the gap has closed down to near 3 cents in recent days.

Also, it's really strange, the gas is almost always higher in the Okanagan than Kamloops by a solid 5 cents (because we are further from the wholesale distribution centre), but this past week Kamloops has had gas more than 10 cents higher. Currently, it's 176.9 here in Vernon and has been for 4 days. At 176.9, the profit margin is similar to Vancouver (1 to 2 cents/l).

Glad I don't drive very much.

Didn't oil just fall though the other day. It's yoyoing but the pump price stays high and any increase in oil, the pump goes up. Pure fraud.

Down to 98.00 a barrel and nope seems to be a lag time when pumps reflect a change in price per barrel Houndmaster.
It's rising this week from last weeks 115.00 per barrel. continually ripped off.

it's more that it touched $98/barrel and then bounced up. right now you are seeing traders looking to make $$ on moves using volume, only generally indicative of where oil is going.

doesn't excuse the crazy prices at the pump though

The last time oil was above $100 (back in 2014 I believe) gas prices were around $1.50/L...

I'm just glad I drive a piece of crap Ford Focus, good on gas but cheap to insure. I pity those who have to both fill up and insure those massive pickup trucks, seems so unnecessary much of the time.
