I am out in the Chilcotin visiting my mom.

Here is another picture from this morning. Nice and sunny, but you can see the valley fog.

Absolutely stunning shots of the Chilcotin Cariboo Glace stunning area all year round l love that area, hope to retire up there in 100 years or so.

Rained all day yesterday and then turned into mud overnight. Here is a picture from this morning...

They're standing back from the monster mud puddle so they don't get their new doo all dirty. The shearer had just come and made them all clean and tidy. I keep looking out the window and wondering whose sheep they are.

My forsythia vs my neighbours. We're not that far apart and his has been blooming for about two weeks, mine is thinking about it... Talk about micro climates.

He has a peach tree that does really well, this makes me think It's probably not something I should try.

Dammmm those mtn peaks are impressive!

The first picture shows the Niut Mountains. Mount Niut is 10,000 ft tall, and looks like a woman laying on her back (the peak would be the nose). The 2nd picture has the Niuts on the right and the Potato Mountains on the left. These are much lower mountains that barely break the tree line, so something like 7 to 8,000 feet tall. Wild potatoes grow up in the alpine there that are slightly larger than peas. The mountains in the far distance down the middle are the northern edge of the mountains in the Homathko Icefield.

BTW, this not my mom's place, but rather, my wife's grandparent's. We are surrounded by mountains in 360 degrees, though the ones off screen to the east and north aren't so high. Off screen to the left (East) is Splinter Hill, which is not much over 6000ft so doesn't even get close to breaking the tree line. A creek flows off that hill down through this ranch, which sits at 3500 ft. To the north and northeast is a series of small hills 5000 to 6000 ft tall that separate the Homathko drainage from the Chilcotin drainage. To the northwest are the mountains in the Kleena Kleene drainage basin that are 7000 to 9000 ft tall, but are far away so don't look very tall from here (not very much above the horizon).

Grew up in Williams Lake, the Chilcotin is just disgustingly beautiful. I miss that ruggedness. If I had the money I would want to buy a property up there and farm it. Thank you to Glacier for those amazing images, that's powerful stuff.

Easy way to tell them apart, if it's jumping around on your car, it's a goat. If it's in a tree, it's a goat. (btw this is a real photo, I thought it was photoshopped but some quick research proved me wrong, it's real)

Today provided instability with towering cumulus...some spotty showers and virga visible mostly along the mountains. Breezy and warm in the sun. The troffiness was legit. What a great day!

Wow, thanks for the National Geographic read on the mountain range Glace, what's the mountain range that looks like it's lying on top of the mountain that looks like a women lying down.
