Looks like he has managed to lull everyone to sleep over the years. He says he doesn't want Ukraine to join NATO and yet former Soviet States Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia already have. He's also threatening Finland and Sweden ,which I was surprised to see that they are not NATO members, yet Norway and Iceland are. Putin's true colors are now in full display, we are living in interesting times.
Agreed, he is an extremely nasty POS who would be happy to burn the world down just to feed his ego. one can only hope that he is removed from power using traditional Russian methods for removing dictators.

Russia meeting fierce resistance. I still don't think Ukraine stands a chance but hopefully they can at least take a large bite out of Russia's military.

Yes indeed lots of protestors in Belarus, Russia although many are afraid due to arrests or you'd see thousands as well.

I had to rewind the news segment to see whether I heard right. How on earth does someone in his position amass that type of wealth? Even if he's fleecing the Russian people, that's unbelievable. Wouldn't that amount make him the wealthiest in the world if true?

And how about Trump supporting Putin regarding Ukraine..unreal..he really must've got help from Russia when he got elected the first time around.
here's a good thread of how the Russian oligarchs have amassed their fortunes

the more surprising aspect is how quickly Russia initiated the idea of talks.

Twitter, which of course you have to treat with a grain of salt, has posted:
  • Russian military moving a high number of cremation trucks to the border
  • there are multiple videos of Russian soldiers out of fuel and food stranded in the Ukraine
  • a Georgian ship filmed itself telling a Russian warship looking for fuel to "go f*ck yourself Russian warship" (and is still around to share it)
  • a Russian minister apologized to attendees at a climate conference for the war and apparently is still alive
  • Turkey and Hungary, traditionally Putin fans, have publicly denounced him
Putin is losing what support he had and people only follow strong men when they are winning.

allegedly the Russian military has enough ammunition for a 10 day assault and no longer have the funds to purchase more (thank you EU for removing Russian banks from SWIFT) as the ruble is in free fall
meanwhile, Germany has reversed a decades long position and is now sending ammunition and support to the Ukraine alongside other European nations (even freaking Sweden is sending 5000 anti tank missiles for pity's sake)

bloody hell, even the SWIS are going to freeze Russian assets starting tomorrow

Putin has lost, he just hasn't admitted it

And this is all great stuff, but Putin still has a trump card, burning it all down to spite everyone. But yes, so far things are going terribly for him. Hopefully he doesn't have some other scheme in mind.

I also heard a couple of Canadians being interviewed ,one was at the vacouver rally yesterday and the other currently just outside of Kyiv, they both know of some Russian soldiers being captured and that the soldiers said they were shocked at the resistance, they were told they would be able to take Ukraine like a knife through butter and that the Ukraine people would run to them with open arms, lol, nothing could be further from the truth. You have to wonder what load of B.S. the Kremlin is telling them. Some said they were told they were just going near the border for some military exercises, then they were told to invade Ukraine, unreal. I was just thinking yesterday as to what the thoughts are of these Russian soldiers about this meaningless unprovoked war. Some now are freezing in the snow with no food.

Great to see how there is justified swift action taken against one nation due to the invasion at present. Surely there is consistency applied throughout the world in that manner, correct?

Answering yes to that question is unfortunately the wrong response . When another nation has done so year after year, invading not just one country but multiple for god knows how long.... crickets.

Hypocrisy at its finest. Clear as day to see, but whenever anyone raises this unconvenient fact, the response is typically laced with demonization, full of statements like "siding with the enemy", "spreading propaganda", etc.
