Today would have been a fantastic day to have Hugecorn man and his pilot reports from his John Denver special aircraft.
I didn’t get up, but PIREPs from my friends over CYXX said huge wet flakes at 1,200ft around 2pm
Wind picking up here once again, temp dropping fast.

And a weak Nina forming for a later appearance. an awesome winter is in the cards me thinks January included.
Let's not get our hopes up on a good January...that month has been MIA since 1993.

I also wouldn't bet on a Nina of any strength. Likely ENSO-Neutral. I do think given we are in low solar, we can still score a good winter without the influence of Nina conditions. My guess is we get a front loaded winter with a cold snow event late November and or December.

We'll see. The only thing we can almost be certain of is after three excellent Februaries, this one will most likely be warm. Reluctant to say anything about Nov, Dec or Jan at this point although I do think we'll a decent arctic blast at some point before February
2.7 here. No precip today but an incredible sky tonight, big pink and red clouds, just beautiful. I had to take the dog for a walk and ended up fixing the electric fence in the dark with a flashlight but it was worth it.

Wow, already so close to freezing there. Stage is set for a hard frost over the Sunshine Coast; pretty crazy to see so early in October.
My temp has stayed steady over the past hour or so...sitting at 5.2C now.
Enjoyed a small hailstorm in south surrey this evening just after 6pm. One giant fork lightning as well. Was an awesome dark sky with orange trim around it. Very nice cell. Cooling off slowly. Sitting at 4.7

Down to 1.7 now. surprised to see everyone much warmer still. Yes, very surprising so early.
Some weather stations on Weather Underground are down to 1c already in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The record low tomorrow at YVR is 2.8c from 1960. Today's was -0.5c from 1985.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
