Yep, that's been known since the beginning. For me it was more interesting to see which conditions were the most significant risk factors. I knew about obesity being the most significant factor but fear and anxiety being one of the top comorbidities is really insane and very sad. I put the blame firmly on the media and governments for that one. IMO, that stat relates fairly well with that mass hysteria paper I shared a while back.
I'm not sure about that one at least since omicron. Lots of people including myself going all in for the "mild" narrative and actually kind of hoping to get sick to get it over with, only to get our asses handed to us. Maybe not as true before omicron.
Also anxiety can be from different sources, even non COVID related. The mental health of society is not in any way stable, whether before or during COVID.
There are likely cases of people getting COVID, freaking out and then worsening of breathing problems. But It's hard not to panic when you are having trouble breathing. Pre existing anxiety would be a really bad thing
If the overall argument is that society needs to shapen up, then hell yes let's go. But doing that might impinge on people's freedoms and choices, so we are right back at square one; the philosophical argument between sacrificing for the common good and protecting individual freedom.
Still not impressed with the restrictions that were lifted were still hog tied. IMO

Agreed. More specifically, the vaccine passport has nothing to do with "science". Horgan essentially admitted this today after mentioning it is in use for the sole reason of "providing additional comfort for people". https://mobile.twitter.com/richardzussm ... 1058280457
Ultimately they have chosen to keep these vindictive restrictions because it's crystal clear they don't care one bit for the principle of free choice (same argument for the mask mandates), never mind just a tiny bit of division and segregation.

They did away with some of the numbers reporting as well, just hospitalizations and deaths, l think it's time to do away with it all.
I for one don't pay attention to it anymore not like l did a year ago.

Just curious when this all started if l was grocery shopping you'd stop and give a wide berth. Is that still practiced now adays or has it waned.
Personally from what l've seen its not so much get out of my way it seems like a year or 2 ago.

I found Dr. BH comments today abit surprising it almost came across as the babysitting is coming to an end.
Especially when she said you will make your own decisions on who to have over in your house.
I guess she's referring to vaxxed or not, l guess the 2 remaining are masks and vaxxed passports.
Is the 6ft. social distancing still in play or is everyone still afraid being around others at less than 6ft.
for once it really is starting to feel normal again lets hope it continues.
Still somewhat concerned about some other powerful variant popping up down the road.TBH

It still sucks big time absolutely absurd all these restrictions removed but not if your un vaxxed its like being punished that's not returning to normalcy.
Look at all the provinces lifting the vax passports.

I had no idea how strict some of these restrictions were, particularly the "indoor personal gatherings" one. I've had my unvaxed uncle over to visit a few times... wow, guess I was breaking the law.
"Indoor personal gatherings at your home or vacation accommodation are limited to your household plus 10 visitors or 1 other household.

The vaccine mandate would not stand up in court if the judgement was unbiased. You can't justify infringing on the freedoms of the country on the basis that it "provides additional comfort for people."
Unfortunately, the governments are apparently able to push these unconstitutional mandates through without having to prove the circumstances justify such measures. If they don't have to fear the courts ruling against them and they have the mainstream media on their side, they can keep getting away with infringing on the constitutional rights of their citizens.
What bugs me is they constantly say they're "following the science" but they refuse to give a timeline or specific thresholds for when the remaining restrictions will be dropped. Is it a certain number of deaths? ICU numbers? Hospitalizations? Some kind of rolling average of those numbers?
It's easy to say you're following the science when you don't have to provide any logic to back up that statement. It's more like "We looked at some science-y stuff, but we really don't know... it's like always changing and stuff, but we are following it! Just trust us!"

There is no science that they follow. Even Dr. Tam said recently perhaps it is time to reevaluate the situation as other countries have done and are continuing to do.
But what this rogue government does follow are directives from non-governmental policy makers outside of Canada.
