Give it another week, and if there’s no hints at an arctic blast in the plausible range, I think it will be time to stick a fork in this winter so far as any further arctic blasts are concerned. There may yet be more lowland snow, even significant amounts of it, but the window in which any sort of deep freeze is possible is rapidly closing.

So it goes, and given we had a Category 5 blast this winter, there really isn’t much room for complaints.

So far as this week’s ridge goes, enjoy it! I highly doubt the entire spring will be dry and ridgy. This is just an early start on the annual Spring Tease.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Early season heatwave for much of California and SW Oregon with many locations in the 97th-99th percentile level in the 25-30 C range. Inland LA could be 28-30c on Feb 10.

It's an acquired taste , not the most pleasing to the eyes, texture too firm, needs alot of chewing.

We might have to call him the grammar riddler.

Wow! You are set. Don't forget the umbrella for April showers and the allergy meds for May flowers.

I'm all excited to get seeds started and move on to spring but I have a feeling that we have a few more cold days left between us and real spring.

The GEM and the EURO ensembles both favor a strong -PNA period to close out February. This could mean chilly temps...as of now, not enough EPO- to really think there's a blast coming. I'm starting to think it'll be like the beginning of December, except without those sun angles it'll be harder to get sticking snow like on the 6th of that month.

Hmmm... would be similar to the late Feb/early March pattern in 1971, 1962 or 1960. All featured a fairly cold and snowy period for the south coast.

Beautiful day today! +12.3 here. It was so warm outside I opened the basement doors to warm it up.  Cooled off tonight currently 3.5 and dropping.

A little hummer was twittering from the top of a cedar tree today. It's like my moose picture where I have to explain, 'You see that little dark spot there? That's the moose!' The arrow points at the hummer.

Looks like they couldn't make up their mind, a little bit of everything this week. Tyler is calling for fog starting Thursday so we won't hit more than single digit temperatures.
