Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Coquihalla is open to the public again btw. Also heavy snowfall expected...up to a foot tonight for anyone heading to the Similkameens, caribou, kootenay.. . etc
And here it is..December 2024 all snow geeks have been waiting for ..with the LR weather "charts" calling for a cold and snowy month. Where's the troffing?

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Maybe Nito wasn't too crazy pointing out how this could be like January/February 2014 and 2015 with the persistence of this pattern, and the consistent extreme cold/snow in the east.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 3:23 am Mild in the extended. gfs_mslp_pcpn_frzn_namer_64.png

Saw this on Vancouver Island weather page, snow in Gold River. Why not us?
Had some pretty thick rain here earlier but I was content to watch it from inside so I'm not sure if it was chunky or just big drops.

Gold River is one of the best lowland locations for snow across the entire south coast. They always seem to score.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 2:00 pm Saw this on Vancouver Island weather page, snow in Gold River. Why not us?

Too close to the quake fault zone for me Ms. Springcomingcreeks. can probably make ice cream with a snow covered shaking ground.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 2:00 pm Saw this on Vancouver Island weather page, snow in Gold River. Why not us?

How's your snow cover Wintergirl? can you snap a photo if there's some left?

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I think arctic air comes back to the west coast in Mid February. Pattern in early February looks much more conducive to a cleaner retrogression than what the models were hinting at a week or two ago
