With a pretty healthy Niña continuing it would seem unlikely that the core of the cold would continue to remain in the east. I’d bet those long range models are onto something and we see the cold shift back into western Canada in early February. Too soon to know the details for us but a cold west warm east February seems quite probable

La Nina almost guarantees a cold west/warm east for Feb/Mar. As mentioned earlier, during a La Nina there is always a high chance (more likely than a cold Dec or Jan) for a colder than normal February for Western Canada/PNW.
