I guess we got the WSW instead of SWS because of the freezing rain possibilities.

It's also well above freezing here at 4.3° DP 1°

Overcast now after sunny skies earlier, don't think those clouds hold any moisture..we'll see.

I just checked on the web. No watches or warnings for Vancouver yet.

Is this going to be yet another of EC’s specialties when the warning comes out well after the snow-induced mayhem is underway?
It's called clown range for a reason.

I honestly think they just forgot or misclicked a button somewhere. They have WSW up for Howe Sound and Fraser Valley, plus all the other Metro regions including southwest. Someone will catch it at the 4 PM package and they'll fix it.

When you get as much snow as you are getting, you are no longer in the snow removal business; you are in the snow redistribution business. (Paraphrasing what the local roads department head said after a big dump in the town I lived in in the Rockies as a teen.)

They split Metro into 5 regions
North Shore
Northeast (Tri-cities and Pitt Ridge)
Central (Vancouver, Burnaby, New West)
Southwest (Richmond Delta)

We do. We feel left out. Although as has been pointed out, maybe not a bad thing to be left out of an EC warning

This is as wide spread snow event as it gets. Don't think it makes much difference right now.

Looking at the latest RGEM, Environment Canada may have to increase the forecast snow totals from 10-20 cm to 20-30 cm. :flakey:

We got nothing in Richmond last night which was totally expected. After having the perfect snow during the Christmas/ New Year week, I am already satisfied with this season. Will this up coming big dump/quick wash overrunning event verify? Honestly no big deal to me anymore. Just look forward to another arctic cold snap + dry snow for another week down the road later this month or early Feb. If lucky enough and it happens, I will give this 2021/22 winter a perfect 10!

Oh for sure. Just critiquing poor public communications. It's not a good look for them, especially so soon after bungling last week's snowstorm.
