Thats throwing darts...too generic of totals..all N of F. Most of the time these are way off. There will be areas that get 8cm and others that get 1-2cm maybe even slush. I dont remember many of these holding up :tiredos:

EC snowfall warning for cities north of the Fraser in Metro Vancouver.
4:21 PM PST Monday 03 January 2022
Snowfall warning in effect for:

Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
Heavy snow during commuting hours may cause travel delays on Tuesday.

Locations: Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Lions Bay, Horseshoe Bay.

Timeframe: Overnight and Tuesday.

Snowfall accumulation: 5 to 10 cm.

Other hazards: Sudden reduction in visibility in heavy snow. Rapidly accumulating snow on roads and walkways.

Remarks: Pockets of heavy flurries will occur throughout the North Shore and Metro Vancouver - Northeast producing sudden reduction in visibility in heavy snow and rapidly accumulating snow on the surface beginning overnight and continuing on Tuesday. The timing of these flurries is difficult to predict but the potential for impacts on the morning and afternoon commute is high.

The threat of heavy flurries will diminish Tuesday evening.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

I think there will be many surprises tonight. I wouldn’t be too upset about being left out of an EC warning. ;)

I haven't read all the posts. Did anyone notice that Hope stopped reporting wind speed after the squall moved through there? Gusts to 46 knots!
